The hearing has been held
Senate State Affairs met on Monday, 14 September 2026, and the family court charge was heard that day. Public testimony closed that evening. There is nothing left to travel for, and no further scheduling email is coming.
What is still open
The committee is now writing its interim report to the 90th Legislature, which convenes in January 2027. That report, not the hearing, is what remains open. At the hearing, Senator Zaffirini asked each invited witness for one or two written recommendations; nothing limits that to the people who were in the room.
If you still want something in front of the committee, ask the Senate Committee Coordinator at 512/463-0070 how to submit a written recommendation for the report, and copy your own state senator. The details are on the hearing page under how to get a recommendation to the committee now. Anything you send is public.
What was actually said
The hearing page reports the charge as it was argued: who testified, what they asked for, and where service of process came in — twice, both times from members of the public, and never from an invited witness.
