Contact Your State Legislator

Proposed — not Texas law The SAFE SAPCR Act is draft legislation. It has not been introduced, has not passed either chamber, and is not in effect. Nothing on this page describes a rule a Texas court applies today.

Before you call: the one-page brief is what to attach to the email or leave at the office.

Find and contact your state representatives and senators to support family law reform and protect parents' due process rights.

What to Say When You Call

Sample Script

"Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I'm a constituent from [YOUR CITY]. I'm calling to ask [REPRESENTATIVE/SENATOR NAME] to support family law reform legislation that would require due diligence before attorneys can certify a respondent's address in custody cases. Currently, weak verification requirements enable service fraud and wrongful default judgments that separate families. Please support legislation that protects parents' due process rights. Thank you."

Every call matters. Legislators track constituent contacts and prioritize issues their voters care about.
